Robin started his activity in service clubs with membership of Round Table, known as Apex in Australia, in 1957 and was Chairman in 1970.
He joined the Rotary Club of Cheshunt and Waltham Cross, District 113, in October1967.
He served on all the major committees and served for three years in the District Committee. He was secretary to the Expansion Committee and we formed the Rotary Club of Waltham Abbey in 1970
International.
The club agreed to a private Youth Exchange of a coloured student from South Africa because Rotary in South Africa would not support her. Once the Exchange was organised they changed their minds and the exchange became official. Molly and Robin hosted Charmaine .
As a result we were invited to send a party to South Africa where we would be hosted by the sponsor club. Molly and Robin spent four weeks as guests of the Rotary Club of Germiston in 1981.
Group Study Exchange
As a result of a very successful GSE visit by Australian Rotarians they were invited to make a "Return GSE" visit to Australia as their guests in 1982.
They emigrated to Australia in 1983.
The Rotary Club of Diamond Creek
The Rotary Club of Eltham decided that Diamond Creek deserved a Rotary Club and Robin was appointed as secretary to the extension committee.
He has been chairman of all the Four Avenues of Service Committees.
He has been Bulletin Editor eight times.
He was the Charter Secretary, Programme Secretary, Bulletin Editor and Attendance Officer for the first year.
In 1993 Robin served as a steward for five days during the International Convention,
He has served on all major committees and was President in 1999 - 2000
Other Rotary Activities
Robin is a founder member and now a Director of Rotarians on the Internet, ROTI.
Robin is a Director of the International Computer user Fellowship of Rotarians, ICUFR.
District Activites
He launched the first District web page in 1996 and has been District Webmaster continuously ever since. They have more than 800 pages.
He was a Task Force webmaster to RI President Frank Devlyn in 1999 -2000
He has served on the District Membership Committee.
He was Chairman of the National Youth Science Forum committee in 1994 - 1995 and secretary for five years.
He has served as a presenter at PETS.
